Also in the national park are petroglyphs, and what is known as the Queen’s Bath. This is a freshwater pool where the Hawaiian chieftesses would bathe under guards watch. The lava pillars that the guards would stand on are still there today surrounding the pool. Some people believe that the remains of one of the gods is buried somewhere within the park.
There are many beaches along the Hawaiian gold coast that are some of the most famous beaches around the world providing for amazing and crashing waves for surfers. One of these beaches is called Hapuna beach. Many people enjoy snorkeling from here, fishing, scuba diving, surfing, sail boarding, and swimming. You might even see a few tents up with people camping on the beach.
For the hikers and the backpackers traveling along the Hawaiian gold coast there is the Pololu Valley Lookout, Anaehoomalu Bay, and the Kona Coast state park.
